The best conferences are those where nothing happens – other than what is scheduled to be on the programme. The timetable is adhered to; the venue provides what is needed and when; the speakers turn up, are on topic and interesting, and everyone in attendance has ample opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends whom they met at the previous year’s event. All  leave saying how worthwhile the time to attend has proven.

"The events business is generally a high-pressure, changeable industry, but when working for akB, it just couldn't be easier. Ali always has everything so well organised that the whole event runs like clockwork, from initial pack-in to final pack-out. Thanks for making a technician's life easier akB!"

Having just attended my 5th NZSSD conference, each organised by Ali Copeman of akB Conference Management, this is an apt description. The entire meeting runs seamlessly in a way that suggests great attention to detail and supreme organisation and management. Having organised conferences myself I know what is involved for things to appear that way. No wonder NZSSD invite her each year to organise their annual scientific meeting.

President Diabetes New Zealand (NZSSD 2014)

“I had the pleasure of working with Ali whilst helping out with the OBHS 150th Reunion Organising Committee. She was thoroughly professional at all times and did a great job of keeping everyone updated with developments, on task and pulling in the same direction. Ali has the special knack of dealing with the tough negotiations, various stakeholders and then delivering a superb event whilst still retaining her good sense of humor. She is top shelf and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her services to others.”

I would have no hesitation in recommending Ali and her company akB for the management of any conference or event……...”
